DR. DAN TYSON

Chairman

Dr Dan Tyson has a diverse professional background in health research and advisory roles. Dan holds a PhD in the field of medical anthropology/human geography awarded by the Australian National University. He also has a first class honours degree from the University of Adelaide. He was awarded a University Prize for his honours thesis. Dan is currently a director of the newly established Aboriginal Business Industry Chamber of South Australia (ABICSA). Dan is of Aboriginal descent through his mother’s family.

 

In his most recent role, Dan was Director, Community, Environment and Strategy and Deputy CEO at Marathon Resources Limited, an ASX listed company. At Marathon, Dan had a broad executive role that included: environmental management; Indigenous relations; community engagement; occupational health and safety; and corporate strategy. An important part of Dan’s role centred on strengthening internal corporate culture, re-engaging stakeholders, and working towards winning back a ‘social licence’ for Marathon
