TASK -VT779-P:Armoury Remediation and Compliance -Upgrade of the current physical security withinthe armouryin building 80.
TASK -VT7808-P:Vault Upgrade -Upgrade 138 Signal Squadron ‘s Vault from a Zone 4 to a Zone 5 security classification to enable TOP SECRET works and operations to be undertaken.
Zone 5 Security upgrades to high security area at Simpson Barracks. NV1 Clearance required
The project incorporated the scope of works of several trades to complete the upgrading of the Vault and Armoury Building. This manual describes the scope of works for the installation of the new Structural Services, which have been completed in coordination with other trades:
- Reconfiguration of the existing room layout, including:
- Installation of a new airlock within the Zone 5 perimeter containing a Zone 5 compliant door;
- Demolition and reinstatement of some existing fittings to internal walls;
- Provision and installation of new 45mm thick doors;
- Works to the vault walls to achieve DW45 compliance;
- Remediation of walls to match existing;
- Security grilles to be installed at two locations internal to the existing grilles;
- Provision and installation of a stand-alone Defence Common Access Card (DCAC) Electronic Access Control System inside the vault;
- Provision and installation of break glass units to allow single handle exit from secure areas without the presentation of an access card when the break glass unit is pressed;
- Provision of a 24- hour battery backup for electronic access control devices within the area.
- An SECE accredited locksmith to follow site keying hierarchy, Vault Building;
- An SECE accredited locksmith to provide five (5) new padlocks to existing cages in the Armoury Building;
- Provision of testing and commissioning associated with the above systems; and
Provision of maintenance and servicing during the defect period (52 weeks from date of completion).
